New Beginnings & Brief Breaks

It's been a little while since my last update, but I promise I have a good reason: I've been pregnant, and am now posting to say that I'm taking a couple of months of maternity leave before I dive back into work. I will be "out of the office" beginning today, July 2nd, and plan to return on September 2nd. During this time, I will not be accepting new clients or answering queries, but I'd love to hear from you when I'm back on my feet and have this motherhood thing a little bit figured out!

I'm deeply grateful to the wonderful regular clients that I've built up relationships with over the years for their understanding and flexibility, and their assurance that they'll be happy to have me back on board once I'm recovered — freelancing can be a scary world, sometimes, and working for marvelous people makes it infinitely easier and less stressful. I'm also delighted and humbled to have the wonderful network of colleagues that I do, fellow editors with whom I've been able to share the ups and downs both of business and life over the years, and who have stepped up to help me fill in gaps and make sure that my regular clients would have the best care and assistance while I'm gone. And of course I can't say enough about my endlessly supportive friends, family, and husband, who make all of this work, and make it worthwhile. I'm looking forward to meeting our newest family member, and introducing him to all of these marvelous people, as well as to the wonders of words and storytelling.
